Meet Your Practitioner
Xissy Wang, R. TCMP, R. Ac, BSc Psyc is on a lifelong mission to help others, particularly through using the tools of Chinese Medicine (CM).
Born in Northeastern China, she spent her childhood - both in China and in central Canada, surrounded by the influences of Chinese culture, language and heritage. After being given the diagnosis of tendonitis, she witnessed the effects of acupuncture firsthand when she limped into a TCM clinic and walked out. This was one of many cases in how quickly and effectively modalities like acupuncture can ease pain and suffering.
After completing her studies at the University of Manitoba, Xissy joined Humber College’s first cohort of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner (TCMP) students in Toronto. She graduated with honours in 2019 and began her practice that fall in Halifax, NS. She has accrued over 5 years of clinical experience in settings including Northern Military Hospital (Shenyang, China), Hong Kong Baptist University and Toronto’s People With Aids (PWA) clinic. Areas of special interest include psychosomatic disorders, insomnia, anxiety and emotional trauma.
Fluent in Mandarin and English, Xissy studies Korean and Spanish, and enjoys walks with her dogs and reading.
Her goal is to help others take ownership of life’s first wealth: health.
